SILICONE SCAR GEL
There Goes That Scar Story Silicone Gel is comprised of a polymer that
forms a layer of protection over skin that allows injured tissue to heal
while remaining hydrated, oxygenated, and protected from harmful bacterial
infection. The silicone-family ingredients in this formulation create an
elastic layer much like an invisible bandage to protect a wound or scar
during the healing process. This occlusive layer will also help to keep a
scar or injured tissue moist for optimal healing.
It is important to seal in moisturization while a wound or scar is healing
so that the injury can heal properly and not leave a raised mark on the
skin. There Goes That Scar Story Silicone Gel will help to soften and
flatten the appearance of a scar by providing an optimal environment for
the injury to heal itself, minimizing the over-production of collagen that
can lead to a raised scar or keloid.
INDICATIONS | Scar Protection, Occlusion
KEY INGREDIENTS
Silicone – a mineral used in cosmetic formulations to
enable the product to glide on the skin without causing irritation, which
is important for application to traumatized skin. Cyclopentasiloxane used
in this formula is a silicone polymer that forms a protective barrier on
the skin while it is healing.
Dimethicone – a form of silicone used to protect the skin
against moisture loss and provide a comforting, non-greasy feel for
sensitive skin.
PRO TIPS
- Is not intended for use on open surgical wounds, or as a treatment for fading older scars.
- It is recommended to follow application with sunscreen if there is risk of sun exposure on protected areas.
- Should be applied sparingly in a thin layer. It may be re-applied as needed to keep skin moist and protected while healing.
- Keep scar protected from possible sun exposure with daily physical SPF.
